David Himmelberger, the founder of Health Outcomes Group, created the standards for linguistic validation of health outcomes measures in the early 1990s and conducted the first e-PRO clinical trial in 1994 in South America. He was also a member of the ISPOR task force that created the Principles of Good Practice for the Translation and Cultural Adaptation Process for Patient-Reported Outcomes (PRO) Measures that remain the standard today.
